Not So Average
In 2009, one glorious couple took a chance on me! I couldnβt believe that Heather Woolard Photography had their first client. I officially had my name out there and nothing was going to stop me! Until 2012, my Grandmother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. At this point we decided we all wanted to capture her legacy. My family and I wanted images of her while she was still moderately well. I was confident I could handle this. Boy was I wrong! That was the single worst session I have ever done. I lost all the confidence I had built in those three years. I became a spiraling out of control, pit of despair. Not only was I losing my grandmother, I had failed to capture the last images of her. After she passed, and I began to regain somewhat of my sanity, I realized my grandmother would not have quit. She mastered every skill she set out to do. I would too. This propeller necklace around my neck was hers, my grandfather gave it to her. It reminds me every day of what they have overcome and that I can do this. She is what thrusts me forward. If you ever see me rubbing this necklace, I am talking to her and asking God to watch over me.
